DESCRIPTION:June 19 – July 4 \nIn today’s reality\, what was once a means of concealment has transformed into a tool of visibility across media\, fashion\, design\, and the way we perceive the world around us. At a time when war is no longer a distant event but the everyday reality of millions\, camouflage takes on a new meaning — becoming a symbol of existence itself. \nAnna Moskalets’ project Camouflage Is the New Pink juxtaposes two contrasting visual codes. On one hand\, camouflage functions as a sign of survival\, anxiety\, and constant readiness for danger. On the other\, pink has long been associated with consumer culture\, glamour\, softness\, and an artificial sense of carefree comfort. \nThe artist invites viewers to consider how the military pattern has effectively taken the place of pink\, becoming one of the most recognizable visual markers of our time. In her works\, human figures wrapped in camouflage fabrics nearly merge with the patterned backgrounds. The boundary between the individual and their environment dissolves\, while questions of visibility and personal identity acquire new layers of meaning. \nAt the same time\, pink appears as a paradoxical intervention: weapons and military objects painted in this color create a tension between attraction and threat\, between aesthetics and violence. \nCamouflage Is the New Pink prompts viewers to recognize this aesthetic shift and reflect on how familiar images are transformed in times of war — and how these transformations reshape the way we perceive reality itself. \nAnna Moskalets is a Ukrainian artist and curator whose practice exists at the intersection of realist painting\, hyperrealism\, and digital art. Originally from Sumy\, she received a technical and economic education in Kharkiv before changing course and developing her artistic practice under the mentorship of Tetiana Malinovska and Artem Volokitin. A defining element of her distinctive visual language is the image of the draped Ukrainian headscarf\, which serves as a symbol of female identity and national memory. \nSince the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine\, Moskalets has been actively involved in volunteer initiatives and the promotion of Ukrainian cultural narratives internationally. Proceeds from the sale of her artworks support humanitarian aid for civilians and provide assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. \nCurators: Anna Moskalets\, Uliana Krucha \n
