SUMMARY:BRIDGE
DESCRIPTION:At the opening of the project\, pianist Pavel Chernyavsky will perform improvisations.\nSergey Zavgorodniy is a graphic artist of the Kharkiv school. Until recently\, he lived in Donetsk. He was forced to move to Kharkiv due to the war and the political situation. The Municipal Gallery is pleased to provide the artist with an opportunity to present himself in Kharkiv’s art scene.\nThe artist’s name is known primarily for his posters from the Perestroika era. His graphic works were published in magazines and albums\, while the Plakat publishing house issued them in mass editions.\nThe collapse of the Soviet Union interrupted the artist’s rapidly developing career… The war in Donbas\, where the artist lived and worked after graduating from the institute\, became a new ordeal for him. After moving to Kharkiv\, he attempts to creatively reinterpret the events taking place around him. The result is the series of graphic works “Bridge”.\nThe bridge is a poignant symbol of a difficult time when bridges are being burned between people and between countries. It is these bridges that all of us will have to restore\, rebuild\, and construct anew.
