DESCRIPTION:On December 2\, on the Municipal Gallery’s 17th anniversary\, we invite everyone to the opening of a solo exhibition by Hamlet Zinkivskyi\, a friend and regular artist of the gallery.\nA participant in the NON STOP MEDIA festival competition program\, a nominee for the Pinchuk Art Centre Prize in 2009 and 2011\, a participant in the Ukrainian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2013\, and the author of numerous solo projects both in Ukraine and abroad.\nThe exhibition “Entering Photography” is a project that fits into\, lives in\, and emerges from a suitcase — a suitcase that holds memories\, places\, streets\, and people.\nThese are photographs not by a professional photographer\, but by an artist who turned to photography as a means of instantly capturing the world around him. Perspective and the traditional rules observed by photographers are no longer important; the photograph itself\, as an object\, becomes filled with meaning.\n“Entering Photography” is not only for the viewer\, who will see the world on film through the artist’s eyes\, but also for the artist himself.\nAnd actually\, Hamlet Zinkivskyi wants to be a little bird…
