DESCRIPTION:Mikhail Rashkovetsky is an independent art historian\, art critic\, and curator. He was born in 1954 in Odesa. He worked as director of the Soros Center for Contemporary Art in Odesa\, curator of the Museum of the History of the Jews of Odesa\, and curator of the 3rd\, 4th\, and 5th Odesa Biennials of Contemporary Art. Curator and co-curator of a number of contemporary art exhibitions and projects in Ukraine and abroad. Participant in numerous conferences\, master classes\, lectures and lecture courses\, educational programs in Odesa\, Kyiv\, Dnipro\, Almaty\, Amsterdam\, Budapest\, Warsaw\, Zagreb\, Ljubljana\, Krasnoyarsk\, Moscow\, Prague\, etc. \nMikhail’s lecture will examine the problems and aspects of “biennial format” events based on his experience of curatorial work in the preparation and organization of three Odesa Biennials of Contemporary Art. Mikhail will talk about his experience in organizing events of this kind\, the importance of Ukraine’s participation in international projects\, and the identification of the critical language of art.
