SUMMARY:MITYA FENYUKHIN "HOME"
DESCRIPTION:The concept of “home” belongs to the boundless anthropological and cultural constants of humanity. It is not a mere notion or category\, but rather a concept. Specifically\, the concept serves as an ideal way to describe the modern world. The indeterminacy of the concept as a form\, unlike a notion\, best illustrates the reality of our days\, devoid of linear structures. \n  \nThe idea of the project emerged alongside the intensification of the sense of temporality and the forgetting of home\, resulting from frequent changes in the places of representation: apartments\, neighborhoods\, cities\, and countries. \n  \nIn a sense\, this project is a compelled attempt to explore the vast semantic field in which the word “home” exists today. \n  \nHome is a dwelling\, a refuge for humans. It represents an area of peace and freedom\, independence\, inviolability. Home is a hearth\, family\, love\, permanence\, childhood\, relationships\, body\, memories. \n  \nThe exhibition consists of two parts. The first part features monochromatic works created in Kharkiv during the period of 2016-2017. It is the artist-graphic designer’s first and only attempt to work with a different\, alien material and large formats. These works were part of the living space in Odessa for a long time and have now become an integral part of the apartment on Moldavanka. They have returned home to Kharkiv\, where they will remain. \n  \nThe second part consists of scans and photographs taken with a phone within the confines of an Odessa apartment and a courtyard at 6 Vatutina Street\, revealing the viewer’s intimate world of the present\, the space where the author currently lives and works.
