SUMMARY:Project "Art Chronicles. MG 25"
DESCRIPTION:To mark its 25th anniversary\, the Kharkiv Municipal Gallery has prepared an exhibition project titled “Art Chronicle. MG 25\,” which brings together works by renowned artists who have been associated with the gallery throughout these years. \n  \nThe exhibition\, occupying the main hall of the Municipal Gallery\, known as its “white cube\,” is characterized by the names of its authors\, who contribute to the reputation of contemporary world art: Vagrich Bachchanyan\, Serhiy Bratkov\, Boris Mikhailov\, Vitaliy Kulykov\, Viktor Gontarov\, and Pavlo Makov. The exhibition also continues the best traditions of nonconformism in Ukrainian art with artists such as Stanislav Hedzhevych\, Oleksiy Borisov\, Volodymyr Kochmar\, and Eduard Yashin. Alongside the works of these established artists\, the exhibition showcases the works of their young colleagues\, including Artem Volokitin\, Roman Minin\, Hamlet Zynkivskyi\, Vitaliy Kokhan\, and Olena Polyashchenko. The exhibited works demonstrate the diversity of techniques and genres in contemporary art\, including video art\, video installations\, painting\, graphics\, and objects. \n  \nThe Municipal Gallery began preparing for its 25th anniversary well in advance. Starting in June\, an informational marathon called “25 Impactful Weeks” was launched on all the gallery’s online resources. Its goal was to reflect the most significant moments of the gallery’s life through textual posts and photographs\, progressively delving into our history until December 1996. In September-October 2021\, the curated project “25” was held\, concluding extensive research and archival work\, presenting a documentary-art exhibition that gathered the most interesting and significant aspects of the gallery’s 25-year history as the country’s first municipal gallery. It included reports from openings and early anniversaries to landmark projects and programs of the Municipal Gallery\, such as “NonStopMedia\,” “Curatorial Intensive\,” “Preserving Kulykov’s Heritage\,” “City HA. Avant-garde Kharkiv\,” and others. \n  \nIn the near future\, analytical articles will be published in print and online media\, and a scientific catalog is being prepared. The gallery’s website will feature a new historical section. While we remember the importance of our anniversary and honor our history and achievements\, we also take our responsibility as a cultural institution seriously and do not want to expose anyone to danger. Therefore\, the public celebration of our anniversary is postponed until the improvement of the epidemiological situation. In December\, we will only reach the milestone of 25 years. Thus\, the following year will be the year of our 25th anniversary\, and then we will be able to organize a traditional celebration! \n  \n\n		\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n		\n\n
