DESCRIPTION:For the 20th Anniversary of MG \nOn the eve of the gallery’s 20th anniversary\, MG’s entire exhibition program for this year was put together with special care. In 2016\, Kharkiv audiences will be presented with exhibitions by artists who have worked with MG since its foundation\, as well as projects by young artists who began their careers on the art scene in close collaboration with MG. We have prepared exciting guest and festival programs and\, of course\, planned a special highlight as part of the “Our Heritage” program. \nOleksandr Ridnyi’s exhibition undoubtedly had to take place during our anniversary year. The artist has collaborated with and exhibited at the Municipal Gallery since its early years\, and his sculptural projects have always delighted audiences with experimentation\, provocation\, and play. For many years\, Oleksandr Mykolaiovych was a member of the jury of the NonStopMedia Festival of Youth Projects and\, together with a young team of artists\, staged provocative performances as part of the Night of Museums. MG and O. Ridnyi also have many joint traveling exhibitions and events behind them. There are many more forms of collaboration between the gallery and the sculptor that could be recalled\, but what matters most is that\, 20 years later\, this collaboration continues. \nOleksandr Ridnyi decided to preserve the intrigue and did not fully reveal even to the gallery staff what exactly would be presented at the exhibition. But that is precisely the value of our long-standing friendship: we can trust him blindly and have no doubt for a moment that what we see at the opening will be professional\, interesting\, sarcastic\, and fantastic.
