As part of the programme dedicated to the memory of Vagrich Bakhchanyan, the Municipal Gallery presents a project that is a reflection on the artist’s texts.

This is already the artist’s third work using a form of expression in the form of an independent printed publication.
An attempt to define a document that would sound like an order, propaganda leaflet, or provocation, while at the same time making a promise of “eternal value and a happy future.”
The main emphasis is placed on the conflict between the object and language, the coupling of different languages behind the backs of objects, substitution, the absorption of the object by language. The interest lies in taking a stable combination out of its own context.
A significant aesthetic basis for shaping the textual part of this work was the verbal experiments of such artists as Vagrich Bakhchanyan, Dmitri Prigov, Yuri Norstein.
And the actual subject here is Soviet monumental sculpture of the 1950s-60s, a certain “grand style.” About why elements of socialist realism still arouse keen interest among people of an already postmodern society.
