MUSEUM NIGHT IN KHARKIV

16.05.2015 @ 12:00 pm - 17.05.2015 @ 12:00 am

This year, Museum Night in Kharkiv will not be as large-scale as in previous years, but it will be no less interesting and exciting!
Unfortunately, this year there will be no Museum Night uniting all Kharkiv institutions under a single concept, advertising campaign, and guided tour buses.
Each of the city’s 15 cultural venues has prepared its own program and will operate according to its own individual schedule.
The program is subject to changes and additions.
We remind you that admission to all activities held as part of Museum Night is free.

The language of the fan, which was a generally accepted part of courtship. The fan was an indispensable attribute of a lady’s flirtation. At the time, there was even an expression meaning “to fan” — to flirt or coquette. The age at which one could begin “fanning” was 13–14. Although the fan was held by a woman, the man to whom these messages were addressed also had to know all the subtleties of its secret language.
“Living Pictures”. Visitors will be able to recreate Baroque-era paintings in specially prepared interiors.
Baroque Artist. After completing a poetics course — a short course in versification — visitors will be able to create “poetic games” typical of Baroque poetry. These include so-called “shaped poems”, written or printed in the form of an object: an egg, cross, cup, triangle, etc.
Hryhorii Skovoroda created emblematic drawings for his book “The Alphabet, or Primer of the World”. Visitors to the Skovoroda Museum will also have an opportunity to feel like Baroque-era artists.
Also included: Skovoroda-style tea drinking, “cracking nuts” as a way of understanding the two natures — visible and invisible — and the wonderful atmosphere of the spring park, a monument of 18th-century landscape art.
