Each reading lasts from 40 minutes to 1 hour. Discussions last from 15 minutes to half an hour. A 10–15 minute break is planned between readings.
A theatrical reading is a performance in which actors read the text of a play from the page. It is a form of staging without a rigidly predetermined directorial concept, which gives the actors greater freedom and encourages spontaneity in their reactions and performance.
Playwrights:
1. Tetiana Kytsenko (Kyiv) — multiple winner of the “Week of Contemporary Drama” playwriting competition (Kyiv, 2011, 2012, 2013), laureate of the Drama.UA festival (Lviv, 2012). Shortlisted and longlisted at numerous festivals. Member of the board of the NGO “Theatre Platform”.
2. Den Humennyi (Kyiv-Kirovohrad) — winner of playwriting competitions at the “Lyubimovka” festivals (Moscow, 2012, 2013), “Five Evenings” (St. Petersburg, 2013), and “Week of Contemporary Drama” (Kyiv, 2011, 2012, 2013). Shortlisted and longlisted at numerous festivals. In 2012, he was included among the 100 best Russian-language writers of the year according to the Russian national “Debut” Prize. Member of the board of the NGO “Theatre Platform”.
3. Yana Humenna (Kirovohrad) — winner of the “Five Evenings” (St. Petersburg, 2013) and “Week of Contemporary Drama” (Kyiv, 2012) playwriting competitions.
4. Petro Armianovskyi (Donetsk-Lviv) — director, playwright, performer, and organizer of theatrical readings within the “Theatre at…” project (Donetsk). Longlisted for the Drama.UA festival (Lviv, 2012).
