“25 EVENTFUL WEEKS”

At the beginning of 2008, the Municipal Gallery presented the “Games with Time” project at the “Soviart” Gallery in Kyiv, featuring works by Oleksandr Ridnyi and Anna Ivanova. The project was curated by Tetiana Tumasian.

In the same year, the Municipal Gallery presented an expanded version of the project entitled “People and Idols” as part of “Cartel of Curators. Mystification” at GogolFest, a contemporary art festival. Volodymyr Kochmar joined the participating artists, while the project was curated not only by Tumasian but also by Ridnyi.

At GogolFest, the well-known sculptures explored the theme of replacing gods, where people are viewers and idols are objects, mystified and mythologized images and symbols. Interestingly, all the works were made of wood.

The Kharkiv audience was able to see the artists’ joint exhibition at the Municipal Gallery in 2009.
