We continue to recall 2008, a very eventful year for the Municipal Gallery: several off-site projects, the opening of the basement, the NonStopMedia festival, and, of course, ongoing exhibitions within the gallery.
This time we would like to tell you about the Municipal Gallery’s participation in the third Kyiv International Photography Festival “Kyivphotocom,” which included the project “Laboratory of Ukrainian Photography.” The exhibition was presented at the Lavra Gallery in Kyiv and its theme was “Kharkiv Photography. 20th Century.”
The MG project consisted of three blocks:

- Masters. Outstanding photographers of Kharkiv: Oleksandr Suprun, Viktor Kotchetkov, Anatoliy Makienko, Oleg Malevanyy, Volodymyr Bysov, Volodymyr Oglolіn, Sergiy Solonskyy, Igor Churysin.
- New Kharkiv photography: works by young authors: Bella Logachova, Sergiy Kotchetkov, Oleksandr Maslov, Iлля Pavlov, and Maria Norazyan.
The project also included a roundtable on the topic “Contemporary Ukrainian Photography” and a master class with participating photographers. (Photographs from the festival’s archive catalog)
