Another project worth mentioning from 2013 is “Contemplating the Divine Comedy” by the gallery’s long-time friends, artists Olena Kudynova and Natalia Myronenko. Natalia is a recognized leader in color etching in Ukraine, practicing computer graphics on a press. Elena, on the other hand, is a renowned contemporary visual artist working in painting, various graphic techniques, and art design.
In their joint project, the artists pondered the place of darkness in art. For them, darkness is the reverse side of things, another side of knowing their essence, and an ocean of hidden possibilities.
The multifaceted nature of darkness determined the choice of a silver background in Natalia’s works. In the exhibition, the shimmer of the base harmoniously combined with contrasting black and white colors, expanding the viewer’s perception of the darkness that the artists worked with.
