The first of the “25 Eventful Weeks” concludes with the retrospective exhibition “Figure” by V. Kulikov (1935-2015) – a renowned Ukrainian artist, one of the founders of the creative association «Litera A», and a close friend of the gallery. The project took place as part of the anniversary program «Preserving Kulikov’s Legacy», initiated by the Municipal Gallery in 2015.
At the “Figure” exhibition, visitors saw graphic works featuring Kulikov’s «models», video materials about the artist, as well as paintings selected by Vitalii Mykolaiovych himself for the Wikipedia article. Alongside the offline exhibition, an online exhibition was also available. The virtual space on the «V-art» platform brought together V. Kulikov’s most significant works, based on the artist’s personal selection!
The project also included a parallel online program: curator-led tours, a series of meetings with artists and V. Kulikov’s students, and a screening of Olena Hryhorieva’s film about V. M. Kulikov. And quite recently, a memorial plaque dedicated to the artist was ceremonially unveiled on the Municipal Gallery building!

And although the exhibition has already ended, you can always find V. Kulikov’s art within the walls of our gallery – on the pages of catalogues dedicated to the artist, as well as on stickers and even tote bags featuring works by Vitalii Mykolaiovych!
