In June of this year, the Polish “Arsenal” Gallery / Bialystok, Poland presented its project in Kyiv, for the first time after its presentation in Poland. Through video, performances, paintings, and drawings, the project participants spoke about the state of their countries, collective emotions, and the national community.
The project involved male and female artists from Poland, Ukraine, and Russia, countries that are geographically close and share a common history.
So why did the Poles bring the “Our National Body” project to Ukraine? Why now? What for?
The exhibition curator and speaker at the discussion, Monika Szewczyk (art historian, curator and director of the “Arsenal” Gallery in Bialystok, chair of the Podlaskie Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts), will speak about this and more.
