DON’T EAT YELLOW SNOW.
18.08.2026 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

VIDSOTOK is a young curatorial group. Its members are artist Anton Tkachenko and art historian Anastasiia Khlestova.
Its main area of activity is the search for “new blood” in contemporary art. The result of this search was the project “Don’t Eat Yellow Snow”, which brought together young artists: Mykyta Filonenko, Tania Suslyk, Mitya Popov, Tania Pukhnavtseva, and musician Mykyta Hurov (Holka).
The theme of the project is childhood prohibitions and breaking them.
From the concept:
“Don’t. Prohibition is an important part of raising a child and the primary form of manipulating them. It is easier to forbid than to teach or explain. Prohibition creates fear and programs predictable behavior.
But prohibitions can not only restrict, they can also prompt questions — ‘Why can’t I?’, ‘What will happen if I break the rule?’, ‘Who can and wants to forbid something in the first place?’. All these questions lead directly to experimentation — breaking the prohibition, attempting to make an independent choice, understanding why some prohibitions are justified and others are not, and what the difference is between ‘Don’t draw on the wallpaper’, ‘Don’t play with matches’, ‘Don’t talk to strangers’, and ‘Don’t eat yellow snow’.”
