Lecture Course “Musical Hermeneutics”

19.08.2026 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Dear friends!
We invite you to a course of lectures on musical art by Alexey Trifonov / Moscow.
The lectures will take place:
February 4 (Monday) at 16:00
Alexey Trifonov is a lecturer and organizer of numerous musical and cultural events, international festivals, as well as concerts at the embassies of the USA, France, Italy, and Singapore in Moscow.
Alexey Trifonov’s integrated course focuses on issues related both to the general foundations of individual and collective principles of classical music perception and to specific phenomena in the development of performing arts.
The organizational structure of classical music is examined comprehensively, both as an art form and as an industry. Particular attention is paid to analyzing the interaction between the composer, performer, and listener as the fundamental triad of musical art. Special emphasis is placed on the problems of interpretation in performing arts and on the perception and evaluation of musical texts by audiences.
Whether classical music is “contemporary art,” the problems of interpreting musical texts, the existence of the performer within European culture, and the question of the necessity of music criticism are among the topics that will be addressed and explored during the three-day lecture course.
