CityX Foundation: A Platform for the Preservation and Development of Ukrainian Art

About CityX Foundation
CityX Foundation is an international project that brings together the most prominent avant-garde artists from Kharkiv and promotes global recognition of Ukrainian art. The organization operates at the intersection of traditional and digital art, utilizing NFT technology to preserve cultural heritage and support artists. Through its initiatives, CityX not only helps artists during wartime but also creates unique opportunities for their integration into the international art space, collaborating with galleries, museums, and digital platforms worldwide.

Key Events and Achievements:

  • First CityX Foundation Collection (2022) – included works by 13 outstanding artists who continue the traditions of Ukrainian avant-garde.
  • Digital Art Fair CADAF (New York, 2022) – CityX’s first presentation in the world of digital art. The event showcased works by five Ukrainian artists and marked the project’s first NFT sale.
  • NFT Paris (2023) – presentation of Ukrainian digital art at one of the leading European NFT platforms, discussing the synergy between traditional and digital art.
  • NFT NYC (2023) – participation in panel discussions and the presentation of digital art by Ukrainian avant-garde artists.
  • Presentation of the CityX Art Project at the NFT Panel Discussion in NYC (April 11-14, 2023) – a lecture titled “A Bridge Between the Material and the Immaterial Through NFT” delivered by one of the project’s co-founders, Asya Nikolaeva.
  • Wonder Fair (April 15-16, 2023, New York, Soho, “Ideal Glass” Gallery) – an international exhibition of NFTs and analog works in the bohemian heart of New York, combining art exhibitions, lectures, literary readings, and musical events.
  • Two-Week Online Auction on Open Sea – held in parallel with events in New York, successfully selling NFT artworks by Ukrainian artists, with proceeds directed to support Kharkiv artists and Ukrainian culture.
  • Volta NY Art Fair (2023)
  • CityX: Pop Up Expo & Assembly in frame of NFT NYC (April 5-7, 2024, Lume Studious, NYC) – show by Ukrainian artists, presentation of the second unique collection “Ulive”, round table, musical performance.
  • ZⓢONAMACO MÉXICO ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO (Mexico City, 2025) – CityX’s showcase in partnership with CUT ART Gallery (Riga, Latvia). The event underscored the importance of Ukrainian art in the global context.
  • Lost spring” (Riga, Latvia, 2025) – curatorial project by T. Tumasyan, video art by T. Malinovska (Ukraine), photo by Cary Joji Fukunaga in partnership with Cut Art Gallery.
  • Art Busan 2025 (Korea, 2025) — an exhibition by CityX and CUT ART, which featured works by David Lynch.

CityX Foundation continues its work, developing its third collection, attracting new artists, and expanding the presence of Ukrainian art on the international stage.
